*Written for my Grandmother*

Humble, beautiful woman, you were raised with hardships in simpler times.

Growing up as a sister, with little eyes that looked up to you with pride.

Strong, beautiful woman, you became a wife and said your vows.

You’ve endured much pain and suffering, beyond what’s fair or should be allowed.

Devine, beautiful woman, a grandmother you became.

Teaching your life skills to me, so that I may pass them on one day.

Loving, beautiful woman, you have come so far in life.

You have survived through the toughest of times, but have come out on the other side.

Blessed, beautiful woman, you deserve to have the finer things in life.

I wish I could give that all to you, I wish I could give you your paradise.

Grateful, beautiful woman, that’s what I am for you.

I couldn’t imagine a world without you in it, I am so thankful that God made you.
